He received a BMus from the Guildhall in London, where he studied with Leonard Stehn. He continued his studies at the RNCM with Bernard Gregor Smith, cellist of the Lindsay Quartet, gaining a MMus in Performance.
He also took part in masterclasses with, amongst others, Ralph Kirshbaum, Julius Berger, Gary Hoffman and Jonathan Aasgaard.

Cello Soloist
Frédéric Steinbrüchel first studied the cello with Maurice Senn and then with Daniel Grosgurin at the Geneva Conservatoire.
His activities as a performer have taken him across Europe, playing concertos, recitals with piano and chamber music. He has also taken part in festivals including the Shostakovitch Festival of Manchester and the Festival de l'Orangerie in Geneva, where he was awarded a recital 'Carte Blanche'
His interests cover the breadth of Contemporary, Classical, Romantic and Baroque music, and he has a repertoire ranging from Bach to 21st century compositions. He performs regularly in various chamber music formations and has recently completed a highly acclaimed tour of the north of England.
